Integrative approach: ACT ,CBT & humanist
Despite a marked preference for the approach of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), I use an integrative approach where transparency, authenticity and client-therapist collaboration are paramount.
I try to adjust my approach according to my clients' needs by establishing a relationship of trust with them.
I tend to use easy to visualize/understand methaphors to illustrate my points or my understanding of your issues. I will also openly use humor to relieve stress and discomfort during therapy, when appropriate. I will not hesitate to share personal stories or insight when it is necessary/relevant.
Psychotherapy is based on team work; we will work together to establish your objectives and find ways to help you meet your goals. Commitment to the process is key to see improvements: therapy creates movement, you will have ups and downs but with some work, you will learn to find balance.
